In this post is a lamp created in Catia software using the lamp on my desk as a model. This can be seen in the picture below.
Designing a lamp in CATIA V5 is a seamless process when you leverage the software's powerful wireframe and surface design tools. By combining these capabilities, you can create a visually stunning and structurally sound lamp that will impress your clients or project stakeholders.
You start with the base by creating a body using pad in part design. For support, after drawing with splines in sketch in Wireframe and Surface Design section to make a tubular shape I used swept circle. Next, I made the striations on the tube using extrapolated tools after drawing and designing the line on the tube. Distance values can be easily changed. After creating the spiral, a normal plane, the second swept with reference and the support appears as in the picture.
I made the third part as a design part after drawing the outline using shaft and shell tools.
All the parts were saved in the computer and at the end I used Assembly, I inserted them back into the page one by one and I used contact.
Whether you're a seasoned CATIA user or new to the software, this blog section will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to tackle your next lamp design project with ease. By the end, you'll be equipped with the skills to create captivating lamp designs that showcase your expertise in CATIA's advanced modeling capabilities.
